Integrating Manual Muscle Testing with Acupuncture Diagnosis and Treatment

Thursday April 24 and Friday April 25, 2025

Each weekend session will offer attendees an opportunity to learn applied kinesiology and how to integrate this osteopathic technique into an acupuncture treatment. Dr. Jay Sandweiss is an osteopathic physician with over 30 years experience integrating acupuncture and osteopathic treatment strategies. Applied kinesiology is method of precise muscle testing to determine the pattern of neuromuscular inhibition present in persistent musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions. Students will learn to identify inhibited muscles and to correlate this muscle dysfunction with a particular acupuncture meridian and treatment approach.

These workshops will be offered on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the course. They are appropriate for both current students and graduates of the course (DO’s and MD’s) looking to integrate basic osteopathic treatments into their acupuncture approach. Each weekend session will provide valuable examination tools and pragmatic treatment techniques for specific body regions.
