Based on some of the “basis of acupuncture” lectures I am wondering if patients who are on Naloxone are “non-responders” to acupuncture for pain? Do other opioids, methadone impact treatment at all?

Hi! Yes. For sure. Medications affecting the endogenous opioid system in various ways (naloxone, opioids, methadone, etc) can make the treatment more difficult. However, these patients are not necessarily “non-responders” as there are other non-opioid effects of acupuncture from which they may still benefit.
