Webinar Description

Master Kiiko Matsumoto will present and demonstrate advanced techniques in the treatment and diagnosis of GI disorders and the constellation of issues that can relate to the gastrointestinal system. Represented as the earth element and the center in Chinese Medicine, the digestive system is critical to overall health, and gut-health is now recognized as an essential contributor to everything from mental health to immune system function. Master Kiiko Matsumoto will guide students to bridge modern western insights on the function and anatomy of the GI system with classical ancient Chinese theory of the 9 stars and its relation to an abdominal map. Teachings will expand beyond the fundamentals of Japanese palpation-based hara abdominal diagnosis to examine advanced diagnosis and treatment of the earth element. Particular emphasis will also highlight a variety of spleen and small intestine points and how they can help a wide variety of conditions, and will include a closer look into the Small Intestine points of the dorsal zone.  Following lecture, demonstrations will be made in real time with live patients and Kiiko Matsumoto will demonstrate how to find the best treatment options for each patient and how to organize various approaches into a complete acupuncture treatment, with Dr. Joseph Audette and other staff facilitating the educational process with questions and live chat in zoom.
